About the Role: Media Analyst (Chinese Proficiency)

Media analysts on this Team provide media monitoring services around the clock for a Government client, mainly using the Meltwater platform. 

What You’ll Do:

• Identify relevant news articles (including TV and radio broadcasts) aligned with the client’s interests

• Process these relevant news articles by summarizing them, and when necessary, translating Chinese news articles into English

• Alert the client of these relevant articles in a timely manner

• Prepare and deliver the daily reports for the client, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail

• Respond quickly to ad-hoc client requests; and

• Lead or participate in Team projects and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)

Who You Are:

• Either a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident

• A Diploma or Degree holder

• Be capable of passing a language assessment test - Professional translation skills are not necessary!

• Be available to work shifts, including weekends, due to high quality commitment for our clients. Analysts are rotated across the shifts to facilitate their career development. The shifts are:

• Shift 1: 0330hrs - 1230hrs

• Shift 2: 0900hrs - 1800hrs [To begin in this shift]

• Shift 3: 1530hrs - 0030hrs

• Shift 4: 2000hrs - 0500hrs

• Be willing to work in office during the On-the-Job Training period (~1 month) and periods of heightened volumes   

The ideal candidates would:

• Remain grounded and perform well under pressure, especially during periods of higher volumes

• Be tech savvy and have a keen eye for problem-solving, especially to automate or optimise processes

• Thrive in a collaborative working environment

• Be knowledgeable about Singapore’s geopolitics, security and current affairs 

• Have a strong interest or familiarity with Meltwater’s products - Candidates are strongly encouraged to explore the free courses in the Meltwater Academy prior to applying
