Owler is a Meltwater (www.meltwater.com) product which provides firmographic information and news on over 14 million companies and growing. We supply this data through our website, emails, APIs, and various integrations for free for users with limitations and via our Owler Pro and Owler Max products. We are looking for an experienced team lead to lead the team and contribute to the development of the web UI for this market leading Sales Intelligence product.

This is a hybrid position which will require onsite presence in our Redwood City offices in the San Francisco Bay Area 1-2 days per week beginning in January 2024. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Use your skills in ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript, and other modern web technologies to lead and actively contribute to the Owler products with  exceptional useability, performance, and reliability.
  • Manage a small team of mostly remote developers within an agile development process while also contributing to the code development.
  • Mentor and grow the skills of junior engineers.
  • Devise and create innovative solutions, along with constructing reusable libraries for future implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, quality engineering, and development, ensuring the delivery of a top-tier product.
  • Uphold and redefine best practices within the software development life cycle (SDLC), encompassing areas such as code review, unit testing, functional automation, user story analysis, and continuous integration.

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in software design, utilizing the above technologies or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year in a lead role with management or mentorship responsibilities. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in JavaScript, ReactJs, Redux, CSS, and other web technologies along with utilizing web services and microservice APIs to integrate data and transactional functions.
  • Experience with Search Engine Optimization, caching, analytics, A/B testing and other technologies used in modern web design.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience working across multiple cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Exhibit strong logical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate effective English communication skills.

What We Will Give You:

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $191,100 - $259,000 before bonuses. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget.
