Sr People Business Partner & Lead APAC
What We’re Looking For:
We are in search of a talented and strategic Senior People Business Partner & Lead (PBP) to join our esteemed global People Business Partner organization, to lead the APAC PBP team, and manage Australia as PBP. This pivotal role presents a remarkable opportunity to drive substantial impact within our organization. The ideal PBP will excel both at hands-on execution and strategic planning, striving to cultivate an exceptional experience for all Meltwater employees and leaders.
The primary objective will be to craft a People Strategy that prioritizes scalability, proactive advisory services, and seamless alignment with the business objectives specific to the APAC region consisting of Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Greater China, Hong Kong, India. The successful candidate should embody exceptional HR Business Partnering skills, characterized by strong interpersonal abilities, sharp business acumen, and an extensive understanding of diverse HR functions. These encompass employee relations, employment law, organizational learning & development, change management, manager enablement & coaching, talent management, and performance evaluation. Previous exposure to areas such as benefits, compensation, staffing, and recruitment will be advantageous.
Success in this role hinges on quickly establishing credibility as a trusted business partner capable of delivering exceptional HR services and forging strong alliances with the APAC Management Team and employees. What You’ll Do:
  • Be a driver for employee experience - you will support the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, engagement, learning & development, performance management, compensation & benefits, offboarding
  • Partner, advise and coach managers on HR activities including adoption of Meltwater’s talent framework in a consultative manner
  • Analyze trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement and changes and drive action plans with local management
  • Identify focus areas by keeping a pulse on the employee sentiment and using data-driven insights
  • Identify learning needs and translate them into L&D initiatives aligning with regional L&D framework, ideally being able to design and deliver workshops
  • Implement regional or global strategies and drive a range of people related local initiatives such as Wellness, DE&I, Sustainability, Engagement, etc.
  • Drive employee relations process and resolve any potential concerns in partnership with management in a professional and integral manner while maintaining legislative and company policy compliance
  • Proactively participate in business meetings, seek to understand business and organizational strategies and learn to translate them into people initiatives
  • Manage a team of People Business Partners, participate in recruitment where necessary, champion new initiatives and policies within the team
  • Collaborate with CoEs in updating company policies and procedures, continuously educating employees and managers to ensure compliance and professionalism
What You’ll Bring:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field of HR.
  • 7-10 years of experience in HR, with 4-6 years in Business Partnering in a Sales or SaaS organisation highly regarded. 
  • HR experience preferably within high-tech sectors, with a focus on the APAC region.
  • Proven background in managing the full employment cycle management in an innovative and proactive manner
  • Knowledge of employment law and common practices in APAC countries, experience with employee relations is required
  • Ability to thrive in a high pace, high performance environment
  • Eager to learn, hard working and able to get into the weeds
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills for all levels of the organisation 
  • Knowledge of Workday or similar HRIS preferred
  • Well organised with the ability to juggle often competing priorities
  • Strong research skills and keep abreast of HR industry developments globally and locally
